Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the Sudoku Core mobile application and related services operated by CygnaGrid ("Service Provider"). It explains what data is processed, why it is processed, and your privacy choices.
1. Data Controller Information
CygnaGrid acts as the Data Controller for personal data processed through the Application.
- Name: CygnaGrid
- Jurisdiction: Republic of Ireland
- Contact: support.cygnagrid@gmail.com
2. Information We Process
Sudoku Core does not require account registration and does not request your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or social profile details to play.
2.1 Data stored locally on your device
- Game state and progress
- Game statistics and records
- Daily challenge history and streaks
- Settings and privacy preferences
- In-app purchase status (for ad-free access)
2.2 Automatically collected data
- Device and app information (for diagnostics and compatibility)
- Identifiers such as advertising/device identifiers used by SDKs
- Usage events (for analytics and feature improvement)
- Gameplay results sent to platform game services for leaderboards and achievements (where enabled)
- Crash and performance diagnostics
The app does not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or camera photos through native permissions.
3. Why We Process Data (Legal Bases Under GDPR)
- Contract performance: to provide core gameplay functionality.
- Consent: for optional analytics and ad-personalization choices where legally required.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain reliability, security, and improve gameplay quality.
- Legal obligations: to comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
4. Consent, Ads, and Analytics
The app uses a consent flow and allows eligible users to choose ad/analytics preferences. You can update consent choices inside the app settings.
- Ads may be personalized, non-personalized, or limited based on your consent and region.
- The in-app "Share Diagnostics & Usage" toggle (Settings → Privacy) controls Firebase Analytics: when disabled, analytics collection is stopped (no game events, screen views, or usage statistics are collected or transmitted).
- Crash reports are always sent to Firebase Crashlytics, including when "Share Diagnostics & Usage" is disabled. Crash reporting is kept on for reliability and to detect and fix bugs; it does not include your identity.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
Sudoku Core integrates third-party SDKs that process data under their own privacy terms:
- Google Play Services
- Google Play Games Services
- Apple Game Center
- AdMob
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Performance Monitoring
Data processed by these providers may include identifiers, diagnostics, usage information, leaderboard score values, achievement unlock events, and platform player profile/account metadata as needed for ads, analytics, game services, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.
6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We may disclose personal data:
- To service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable government request.
- To protect rights, safety, security, and prevent fraud or abuse.
7. International Data Transfers
Data may be transferred outside your country, including outside the EEA. Where required, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
8. Retention and Deletion
- Local game data remains on your device until removed by you or by uninstalling the app.
- Analytics/ads/diagnostics retention is governed by the relevant third-party provider policies.
- Data required for legal compliance may be retained as required by law.
You can reset local data using in-app privacy controls. For rights requests, contact support.cygnagrid@gmail.com.
9. Children's Privacy
Sudoku Core is a general-audience puzzle game. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiers from children under 13 in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact support.cygnagrid@gmail.com and we will review and take appropriate action.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect data. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
11. Policy Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be posted with a revised effective date and, where required by law, we will request consent.
12. GDPR Rights
Where GDPR applies, you may have rights including:
- Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
- Withdrawal of consent at any time for consent-based processing.
- Lodging a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights to:

- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising where applicable.

13.1 Sale and Sharing of Personal Information
CygnaGrid does not sell personal information in exchange for money. However, like most ad-supported apps, we may share advertising identifiers with third-party advertising partners (such as AdMob) to deliver personalized ads. Under California law, this activity may be considered "sharing" — and in some cases "selling" — of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To opt out of this sharing, use the "Your Privacy Choices" control in the app (Settings → Storage & Privacy) or email support.cygnagrid@gmail.com.
To exercise rights, email support.cygnagrid@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request and will respond within the period required by law.
